Fr Pius Asuquo Duke

Rev. Pius Asuquo Duke MSP was born on 23 October 1978 in Jos, North Central Nigeria. He grew up in the cities of Jos, Lagos, Calabar, and Abuja and had his priestly formation and training in Ogun State and Abuja, Nigeria. From there, he graduated with bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Theology, and also holds a Master’s degree in Business Management.

On 24 January 2011, he was incardinated into the Missionary Society of St Paul and ordained a deacon on 25 January 2011. He was ordained a priest on 25 June 2011 for the Missionary Society of Paul of Nigeria. Since being ordained, he has served in the following countries: Nigeria 2011-2012 Chad 2012-2016

In the UK, Fr Pius has served in the following parishes:

  • St Peter’s and Marychurch, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, UK: 2017 – 2018
  • St Agatha Catholic Church Kingston and Hospital Chaplain at Kingston Hospital: 2018 – 2020
  • St Antony of Padua Catholic Church and Chaplain at Oxford University Teaching Hospital, Oxford: 2020 – 2021
  • St Joseph and Our Lady Catholic Church Bedford and Chaplain at Bedfordshire Hospital: 2021 – 2022
  • Our Lady of the Rosary Brixton: 2022 – 2023
  • St Bede’s Catholic Church Clapham Park: 2023 – Current

Fr Pius’ interests include contemplation, meditative reading, and research. Other interests include music, movies, art, nature, politics, and browsing.
