Fr Pius Kenechukwu Nwankwo

I am Rev Fr. Pius Kenechukwu Nwankwo, a priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha, Nigeria. I was born on May 1, 1980, and ordained a priest on August 6, 2011, by His Grace, Most Rev Valerian Okeke, the Archbishop of Onitsha Archdiocese.

After my ordination in 2011, I was posted to Holy Cross Catholic Church, Nkpor, where I worked as a Parish Assistant for just a year. Then, in October 2012, I was posted to the Cathedral as a resident priest. I was appointed the Catholic Prison chaplain at the Onitsha Federal Correctional Facility and the Parish Assistant at St. Valerian Catholic Church, Onitsha. At the same time, I was the Diocesan Chaplain to the Holy Childhood Association (HCA). My duty as chaplain to both the Correctional Facility and HCA lasted until July 2018, for a total of 6 years. But I was relieved of my duty as Parish Assistant at St. Valerian, Onitsha, in 2014.

In August 2018, I was sent to the USA to further my education at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, where I studied an MFA in Digital Media Arts and Technology. I returned to Nigeria in December 2022. Again, I left Nigeria for the UK to further my knowledge. Currently, I am wrapping up my MBA in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield.

I enjoy being available to the people of God, exercising my pastoral duties. Also, I love to edit videos. I play and watch sports like tennis, table tennis, volleyball, and football (but I will not mention my club).

I am humbled to be accepted to exercise my pastoral duties at the Archdiocese of Southwark. I hope to put in my best and discharge my duties with the highest level of respect and love.
